History

The history of Brouwershof began on the station square in Lokeren. The original name of the hotel-restaurant was "Brouwersgasthof".

Somewhere in the sixties, the business moved to the Zelebaan and changed its name to Brouwershof. The hotel was closed and instead a banqueting room was opened. The Brouwershof restaurant was managed by the Impens and Seghers family.

In that time, the business was open 7 days a week and there even was a flourishing catering service.

In the seventies, there was a first reorganization and Sunday became a closing day.

In the year 1987, the wine waiter, Mr Johan Ros, took over the business because of the long illness of Mr Impens.
Halfway the nineties, road works began at the Zelebaan, so this was a less successful period and resulted in a great loss of regular customers because of the poor accessibility. Finally, the business had to close down at the end of 2001.

The only employee who worked with the business during this entire time, was Mr Richard De Clerck. At the end of his career, he was the head waiter of the restaurant.
